Being near the lake was desired and going for a premium. Today there is a distinct trend toward purchasing homes on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe: Incline Village, Glenbrook, Zephyr Cove and Stateline, Nevada.
What’s driving this latest trend? Taxes! With the personal income tax hike in California the smart money is heading to Nevada where there are no personal income tax. A few miles east and your savings are upwards of 10% of your annual income. The second quarter 2013 may go down in Owen’s Brother’s Moving Company history of the Summer of Incline Village, Nevada. Incline Village has been on fire with homes selling within the first few days on the market, at asking and with short all cash escrows.
